Assistant to the vice commander of the Shinsengumi.
Assistant to Hijikata Toshizou, vice-commander of the Shinsengumi. Aside from Harada Sanosuke, Okita Souji is the lowest-ranking of the members present in Tsuwamono-era Japan, and is treated as such much more than her counterpart. She has a tendency for immature pranks and humor that has translated well to her current childlike state.
Okita Souji, along with the rest of the Shinsengumi, was transported back to Tsuwamono-era Japan by a time-related mishap, a side effect of which transformed them into children. Together, they approached the Hashinara clan for aid in locating one Kobayakawa “Prince Frederic Charles of Prussia” Hideaki, who was believed to have killed the original Kobayakawa Hideaki, thus potentially disrupting the timeline.
Souji contributed very little to the meeting, making such a nuisance of herself, in fact, that Hijikata Toshizou dragged her away at one point. When she returned, Souji was much subdued for the rest of the talks.
The group later apprehended Prince Frederic but, being children, were unable to actually arrest him or deal him any physical harm whatsoever. All involved parties were persuaded by Aotsuki to return to Wakigami castle for further discussion.
