A province which occupies the northwestern quarter of Shikoku. Relatively open and flat compared to the rest of the island, it enjoys a solid agricultural economy specializing in fruits of all sorts, an particularly mikan, or tangerines. The wilderness outside the few towns is relatively unspoiled, and so the forests of Iyo are also a popular destination for those lords who hunt for sport.
The province’s capital, Matsuyama, lies along the northern shore, and is home to the largest shipbuilding yard in the country. This operation is sponsored by the Daimyo himself, and receives commissions from clans from all across Japan.
